Leading research fellow of Bioadaptation laboratory, doctor of biological sciences, associate professor Tofig Allakhverdiyev participated in the International Scientific Conference "Wheat in European countries and Georgia as one of the origin of wheat" supported by Shota Rustavelli National Scientific Fund at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia at the Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Tbilisi on 01.10.2019-05.10.2019. President of the Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, academician Kuram Alexidze, President of the European Union of Academies of Applied Sciences in Agriculture, Food and Nature, Antonio Michele Stanca (Italy), Director of the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, academician Igor Grinic, Professor of Barcelona University Jose Luis Araus, head of the Turkey Office of CIMMYT, Alexei Morgunov, and other foreign and local researchers attended and made presentations. At the conference, a variety of topics were listened to South Caucasus like an origin of soft wheat, contemporary research in the wheat selection, genetic diversity of wheat, food, feed, and medical significance. T.I. Allakhverdiyev made a presentation entitled "Physiological traits of wheat, grain yield and productivity components under drought stress". The report of our co-worker was met with interest and discussions were held around the subject.
