Research directions of the laboratory: | - Expression analysis of genes associated with salt tolerance in wheat plant;
- A comparative study of DNA damage and repair in plants subjected to abiotic stress at the total transcriptome level and in isolated DNA using specific monoclonal antibodies
|
Main scientific achievements: | - A genome library of chloroplast DNA was created, vector systems were constructed to transfer foreign genes to plants, and transgenic plants were obtained;
- The chl.DNA genome library of Cicer arietinum was created;
- For the first time, the presence of a soluble and membrane-bound form of the carbonic anhydrase enzyme was discovered in salina cells;
- Mechanisms of regulation of expression of some WRKY transcription factor genes (TaWRKY 10; TaWRKY 19a), HKT-2.3 and HKT-1.4 transporter genes and SOS genes induced by high concentrations of salt in bread and durum wheat genotypes were studied at the mRNA level;
- Damage (pyrimidine cyclobutane dimers-CPD; 6- photoproducts) induced by UVC radiation and reparation mechanisms were studied in the wheat plant. The relative amount of dimers was found to increase by about 3-4 times compared to the control in the nuclear DNA isolated from leaves and roots.
