Research directions of the laboratory:

Study of photosynthesis activity and tolerance of durum and bread wheat varieties to stress factors.

Main scientific achievements:

  • Based on photosynthesis activity and productivity tolerant varieties were selected among numerous durum and bread wheat varieties, new generation hybrids were obtained from them as a result of crossing. Currently, fifth-generation hybrids are being tested in saline soils.
  • Morphological changes in the vegetative organs of plants, light phase of photosynthesis, osmotic regulation, indicators of water exchange processes and yield elements of varieties were studied at the cell and whole plant levels by applying chlorophyll fluorescence analysis.
  • Fe3O4 and ZnO nanoparticles were found to stimulate the morphological and physiological processes of the studied wheat genotypes and increase their ability to adapt to salt stress.
