A series of events dedicated to "March 27-Science Day" continues at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS. On March 31, head of the international laboratory of Computational structural biology, professor of the Cambridge University, leader of the Computer crystallography group of the İnstitute of Molecular Biology of Medical Research Center Doctor of Philosophy in physics and mathematics prof. Garib Murshudov’s scientific seminar “Some applications of methods of the computational and computer sciences to biological sciences” was held online. Along with the staff of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, scientists of the institutes of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS, as well as the Institute of Information Technologies also took part in the seminar. The speaker provided detailed information on the role, purpose, required resources, and existing databases of computational structural biology in modern times. G.Murshudov informed the seminar participants about the activities, staff training, and future plans of the Computational Structural Biology Group headed by him in Azerbaijan. He noted that research on computational structural biology has already been founded in Azerbaijan. At present, there is such a group in the IMBB, and the group's activities are expanding. Now the task is to achieve the development of this science in Azerbaijan. The scientist stressed the importance of participation in the world science network. Then the speaker answered the questions. Seminar participants discussed the topic and they praised Garib Murshudov's research in this direction.
