Seminar on the theme “Drought stress memory and drought stress tolerance in plants” + Photo Oct 17, 2018 | 12:16 / Seminars

A seminar on the theme “Drought stress memory and drought stress tolerance in plants” was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies on October 17. Lala Aydinly, junior researcher of the Bioadaptation laboratory noted that despite the extensive study of the drought that is the main indicator of abiotic stress, there is little information about priming and drought memory. Most of the results of the priming and drought memory were obtained under controlled laboratory conditions which may differ from natural condition. L.Aydinly emphasized the importance of studying and managing of transgenic memory mechanisms. She noted that the understanding of the effects and mechanisms of priming is one of the most important issues because based on this data the strategy of climate protection and alteration can be prepared. Extensive discussions were held on the theme and the researcher gave comprehensive answers to the all arising questions.
