Today, one of the holiest holidays in the Islamic world is Eid al-Adha. Progressive Islamic values and traditions have always been upheld in Azerbaijan. These are the values preserved by our people, waving our flag with moon and star in our native lands today. The people of Azerbaijan, who have always protected their spiritual heritage and demonstrated their commitment to the principles of Islam, humanism, equality and brotherhood, have celebrated Eid al-Adha as one of their dearest days for centuries, even in the most difficult periods of history. According to the Law "On Holidays of the Republic of Azerbaijan" adopted by the National Council on October 27, 1992 after the independence of Azerbaijan, Eid al-Adha is celebrated at the state level in Azerbaijan as well. In the Patriotic War, all the people of Azerbaijan showed their readiness to sacrifice their lives for the Motherland under the leadership of victorius Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. This is the brightest expression of the greatness of the Azerbaijani people and their commitment to their highest values. On this holy holiday, it is the moral duty of each of us to commemorate our martyrs who died for the Motherland. Thanks to them, today the people of Azerbaijan celebrate this sacred holiday as a winner. May this dear holiday bring health, peace, abundance and prosperity to the people of Azerbaijan.
