Vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB), academician Irada Huseynova met with deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA) Zakiya Mustafayeva, and, director of the Analytical Expertise Centre of Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute, Khalid Bayramli.

The meeting was attended by the director of the Institute of Microbiology, correspondent member of ANAS Panah Muradov, deputy director for Scientific Affairs of IMBB, Ph.D. in Biology, Associate Professor Alamdar Mammadov, scientists of IMBB and the Institute of Zoology.

Academician Irada Huseynova informed the guests about the research work carried out at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology on plant diseases, the conditions created in the relevant laboratories, and the material and technical base meeting modern requirements, as well as cooperation with international centers. She spoke about the potential of experienced staff at the institute and introduced the guests to leading specialists.

Deputy chairman of AFSA Zakiya Mustafayeva stressed the importance of joint research in the field of plant health. She also said that the exchange of experience in this field will contribute to the development of cooperation, and hopes for the support of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in scientific and theoretical research and training for the agency's laboratories. Zakiyya Mustafayeva invited academician Irada Huseynova to AFSA together with specialists.

Then Khalid Bayramli informed about the proposals for joint activities to be done

The meeting also discussed the effective identification of plant quarantine diseases, problems related to the export of Azerbaijani agricultural products, ensuring a permanent dialogue between specialists and other issues of common interest.
