One year has passed since the beginning of the historical event called the Second Karabakh War, the Patriotic War, or the "Iron Fist" operation. A year ago, a ceasefire was violated by the Armenian armed forces along the line of contact established after the Karabakh war in the morning. The enemy was silenced by retaliatory fire, and then, by order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, martial law, curfew, and partial mobilization were declared in the country. Our victorious army was advancing incessantly, liberating our lands, which had been in captivity for almost 30 years, from the clutches of the enemy. The war was going on not only on the front line but also on the internet at the back. The names of young people in this area deserve special mention. Young people, both in the country and abroad, have worked hard to make our true voice heard in the world. During the 44-day war, the enemy fired rockets not only at the battlefields but also at the civilian areas, killing dozens of civilians. It is an undeniable fact that victory in war is achieved through bloodshed on the battlefield. The blood of the 2,895 martyrs in the Great Patriotic War did not remain on the ground, and the 44-day battle ended with the victory of Azerbaijan on November 10.

There are only a few days left until the beginning of the war. In order to look at the path of victory, to commemorate our martyrs, on September 22, young employees of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS - members of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists visited the Military Trophy Park and got acquainted with weapons and military equipment looted during the 44-day war. At the same time, the graves of martyrs who died heroically in the Great Patriotic War were visited in the 2nd Alley of Honors.

Then a commemoration event dedicated to the memory of the martyrs was held at the institute. First, the martyrs were commemorated with a minute of silence. Opening the event, a correspondent member of ANAS Ibrahim Azizov emphasized that our lands were liberated from occupation at the cost of blood and lives of our heroic martyrs, soldiers, and officers, veterans. He noted that the return of our occupied lands thanks to the strength of our victorious army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev is the most glorious page in the history of our statehood. Then, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the Institute Alamdar Mammadov, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists Nargiz Bayramova, Ph.D., Associate Professor Shahniyar Bayramov, Ph.D. Samra Mirzayeva and others paid tribute to our soldiers and officers, all our martyrs who fought heroically in the Great Patriotic War, waved the Azerbaijani flag in our liberated lands, and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.
