On January 17, 2022, at the next scientific seminar of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, junior researcher of the Laboratory of Photobioenergetics, P.E.Safarova made a lecture on "Cytochrome c oxidase" dedicated to complex IV, one of the main components of the respiratory chain. The speaker provided the audience with up-to-date information on the molecular organization, crystallographic structure, function, and reaction mechanisms of cytochrome c oxidase. Part of the report was devoted to pathologies that occur in the body as a result of defects in cytochrome c oxidase.
