The leading researcher of the Bioadaptation Laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS, PhD in biology, Associate Professor Samira Rustamova visited the Department of Plant Genetics and Biotechnology of the Institute for Crop Science and Resource Conservation of Bonn, Germany on 15.02.2022-28.02.2022. The main purpose of the trip was to conduct Silico analysis by sequencing the DREB gene in wheat genotypes within the framework of the project “Development of a conceptual model of the mechanism of stress tolerance based on the identification of the interaction between the expression of key genes responsible for drought tolerance in wheat and the metabolome”, the winner of the main grant competition of the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2020. S.Rustamova discovered specific SNPs for the DREB gene located on the 3D chromosome of wheat and designed genome-specific primers based on them. Amplicons of appropriate size were cleaned from the gel and sequenced. Sequence data were analyzed with DNASTAR Lasergene bioinformatics software SeqMan Pro and SeqBuilder Pro. It is planned to create a genetic map for the DREB transcription factor gene in local genotypes.
