A leading researcher of the Bioadaptation Laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS, PhD in biology, associate professor Nargiz Sultanova, and junior researchers Nargiz Bayramova and Aysel Madadli conducted monitoring in the experimental area of the Central Botanical Garden where grapes, vegetables and garden plants were planted. The main purpose of the monitoring was to study the main viral diseases found in plants. For this purpose, initially, the plants were visually diagnosed, and then leaf samples were collected from grapes, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, fruits, watermelons, etc. having viral disease symptoms such as yellowing, reddening, curling-twisting, necrotic spots, etc. were collected from the said areas. In the next stage, in order to determine the type of viruses, the plants will be subjected to serological and molecular diagnostics under laboratory conditions.
