On October 5, a regular meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Academician Irada Huseynova, vice-president of ANAS, Director General of the Institute, who opened the meeting with an introductory speech, introduced the issues on the agenda to the members of the council. First, academician I. Huseynova congratulated the teaching staff of the institute on the occasion of October 5 - World Teachers' Day and wished them success in their difficult and honorable activities. She emphasized that National Leader Heydar Aliyev highly appreciated the work of teachers in all the years he led Azerbaijan, treated them with great respect, and showed special concern for improving their financial condition and well-being. She noted that President Ilham Aliyev, who declared the development of science and education as one of the priority areas of state policy, pays special attention to the construction of schools that meet new and modern requirements, strengthening the material and technical base of educational institutions, and providing them with modern technological equipment. Then academician Irada Huseynova congratulated the head of the laboratory of Photochemistry of Chloroplasts, correspondent member of ANAS, professor Ibrahim Azizov on behalf of the collective on the occasion of his 75th anniversary, addressed him with good wishes and presented the Honorary Decree of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies on the occasion of his long-term effective scientific and pedagogical activity and his 75th anniversary.  Introducing the council members with the decision of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev", I. Huseynova drew attention to the fact that proposals are expected from the heads of the laboratories and the members of the Scientific Council regarding this important event. The chairman of the meeting gave information about the results of the international conference dedicated to the "Year of Shusha" on " "Biodiversity, land and water resources of Shusha and surrounding areas: a vision of the future". She emphasized that about 500 scientists from scientific and educational institutions attended this great event was held with great success and 257 theses from 11 countries of the world were submitted. Then, academician Irada Huseynova spoke about the reports on the results of the scientific, pedagogical and scientific-organizational activities of IMBB in 2022 and gave orders for the preparation of reports. At the meeting, other organizational issues were discussed and appropriate decisions were made.
