This holiday plays an important role in establishing relations with more than 50 million Azerbaijanis living in more than 70 countries of the world, creating unity and solidarity among them. Celebrating the Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis of the World has already become a necessity for all Azerbaijanis of the world. The role of the Azerbaijani diaspora in conveying the truths of Azerbaijan to the world community is irreplaceable.

The solidarity of the Azerbaijanis of the world demonstrated the foresight of our National Leader, the genius Heydar Aliyev, and his ability to unite the people around him. On December 16, 1991, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Heydar Aliyev, taking into account the importance of creating the unity of world Azerbaijanis, declared December 31 as the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis.

"For every person, his nationality is a source of his pride. I have always been proud, and I am still proud today, that I am an Azerbaijani!" - these words of the wise leader have become a symbol of national pride for each of our compatriots. President Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing the services of Heydar Aliyev, the genius son of the Azerbaijani people, in this field with his tireless activity.
