Academician Irada Huseynova, general director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the MSE RA, visited the Gobustan RES in order to supervise field research conducted jointly between the institute and the Gobustan RES of the Research İnstitute of Crop Husbandry. Director of the Gobustan RES PhD Atabey Jagangirov presented the competitive variety test collection, and wheat genotypes planted for genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to academician Irada Huseynova and gave detailed information about field research. At the same time, the academician got acquainted with the wheat fields in the Khilmilli area, and the projects to be implemented jointly for the next years were discussed. Employees of the institute - senior researcher of the Bioadaptation Laboratory Tofig Allahverdiyev,  leading researcher, PhD. Samira Rustamova, researcher Turane Iskenderova, senior laboratory assistant Khayala Aliyeva, head of the Genome structure and expression laboratory of the institute PhD Alamdar Mammadov, Head of the International Proteomics Laboratory, PhD Ismayil Zulfugarov and junior researcher of that laboratory Gulshad Muradova, leading researcher of the Laboratory of Cell Membrane Systems, PhD. Durna Aliyeva, senior researcher of the laboratory of Enzymology of Photosynthetic Carbon Assimilation doctor of biological sciences Shahniyar Bayramov and the leading researcher of that laboratory PhD Ulduza Gurbanova took samples for conducting morpho-physiological, biochemical and molecular-genetic studies on wheat samples. Samples intended for gene expression and biochemical analyses were immediately frozen in liquid nitrogen, brought to the institute, and placed in a refrigerator at -800C.  At the same time, 33 vegetation indices were measured in all genotypes with the help of a digital phenotyping device non-invasively, without disturbing the integrity of the plants. Research is continued in the laboratories of the institute.
