A total of 10 dissertations were presented in the specialties of "Molecular Biology", "Biotechnology" and "Biochemistry" at the meeting of the Scientific Council specialized in the defense of master's dissertations under the chairmanship of professor Ibrahim Azizov, corresponding member of ANAS.

Graduate students admitted to open defense presented the main provisions of their dissertation work on "Polymorphism of the interleukin-1 receptor antagonist gene in patients with viral infection", “Design and efficiency testing of specific primers for allelic forms of the DREB gene in common wheat”, “Assessment of salt resistance of prospective wheat genotypes of Azerbaijan according to the first class HKT1;4 gene”, "Study of ascorbate peroxidase enzyme in soft wheat genotypes grown in different concentrations of NaCl salt", "Study of aspartate aminotransferase enzyme in vegetative organs of wheat genotypes under water shortage conditions", “Isolation of mesophyll and bundle sheath chloroplasts from maize plant and study of photochemical activity”, "Determining the subcellular distribution of oxalacetate decarboxylase enzyme in pea leaves", "Development of a regeneration protocol in tomato (Solanum lycopersicon Mill.) through tissue culture studies and in vitro callus formation", “Enhancing recombinant protein expression by optimizing nutrient uptake in Nicotiana benthamiana”, "Study of morphogenesis in cell culture of alfalfa plants under drought stress".

A wide discussion was held around the topics and a decision was made to award the relevant degrees to the master’s students.
