The Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis of the World is a symbol of the unity of the Azerbaijani nation. We have been commemorating this day in a totally different, happier way for the past four years. Because the celebration of our national camaraderie and the embodiment of our people's strong unity behind their leader coincide with the liberation of our lands from occupation. On September 27, 2020, in response to the military aggression committed by Armenia against our country, the people of Azerbaijan rose to the Patriotic War at the call of the Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev. The victorious Azerbaijani Army inflicted a heavy defeat on the enemy and restored the territorial integrity of our country in 44 days. During the Patriotic War, the protests of our compatriots living abroad against the insidious provocations of the enemy, selfless services in conveying the truths of Azerbaijan to the world community became a worthy contribution to our Victory. Our National Leader addressed our compatriots living abroad on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis on December 31: "Celebrating the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis as a state holiday has already become a pleasant tradition as a logical result of the national liberation struggle of our people. The day of solidarity, which reflects the revival, progress and national unity of the people of Azerbaijan, which has an ancient and rich history, and which mobilizes them to the holy and responsible struggle for independent statehood, is a moment of confidence and hope for every Azerbaijani. Currently, millions of our compatriots live, work and operate in different countries of the world. Despite this, there is only one state that preserves their national-spiritual existence. This is the independent, sovereign Republic of Azerbaijan." The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Iham Aliyev, demonstrates that the ideas of national solidarity laid by the great leader Heydar Aliyev are still relevant for the state of Azerbaijan. Today, every Azerbaijani believes that we will confidently step towards new heights under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
