The leading researcher of the Bioadaptation Laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of MSE RA, PhD, associate professor Samira Rustamova was on a scientific mission at the Plant Breeding Department of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, Germany, on 14.12.2023-24.12.2023. The main purpose of the visit was to conduct a GWAS - genome-wide association study analysis by comparing and cross-analyzing the phenotyping results obtained in the field for two years for 188 wheat genotypes genotyping by the 35k array method. Samira Rustamova tested genetic linkage with each of the 35,000 SNPs and identified specific SNPs to detect 25 vegetation indices that are the result of digital phenotyping of wheat genotypes cultivated under rainfed conditions, including single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) specific for plant parameters such as flag leaf parameters, plant height, relative water content, and water deficit. Based on the obtained results, the construction of QTL mappings is planned.
