On March 7, an event was held on the occasion of "International Women's Day" at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of MSE RA. Academician Irada Huseynova, the general director of the institute said that Azerbaijani women actively participate in the socio-economic and socio-political life of our country. Women have an extraordinary role in the advancement of science. Women make up 59.2 % of scientific workers in Azerbaijan. The majority of IMBB's staff, young scientists, and specialists are women. They take an active part in various events, international scientific conferences and seminars held both inside and outside the country, and receive master's and doctoral studies in foreign countries. She emphasized that there are families of martyrs and veterans among the employees of the institute, and we are indebted to them for the victory won. The academician wished the women success in their personal lives and careers and sincerely congratulated them on the occasion of this day. Corresponding members of ANAS Ibrahim Azizov and Ilham Shahmuradov, deputy director for scientific affairs PhD in biology, assoc. prof. Alamdar Mammadov, doctors of biological sciences Saftar Suleymanov and Shahniyar Bayramov, PhD in biology  Nurmammad Mustafayev and others congratulated the women and expressed their good wishes to them.

Then, for the success in their scientific activities, a group of employees of the institute - Durna Aliyeva and Ulduza Gurbanova, PhDs in biology, were awarded the Honorary Order of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS, and Zarifa Suleymanova and Fazila Gasimova, PhDs in Biology, were awarded the Honorary Order of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, a letter of thanks was presented to Fatma Abdullayeva and Ulviyya Aghayeva, employees of the supply and service department.
