The article "Genetic structure and molecular analysis of Artemisia species common in Azerbaijan" co-authored by the employees of the Institute of Molecular Biology Biotechnologies of MSE RA and Institute of Botany was published in "International Journal of Secondary Metabolite" indexed in SCOPUS, MIAR, TR-Index, EBSCO and ERIHPLUS databases. The authors of the article - head of the laboratory of Genome Structure and Expression of IMBB, PhD in biology, associate professor Alamdar Mammadov, leading researcher Zarifa Suleymanova, and associate professor of the Department of Life Sciences of Khazar University, PhD in biology Javid Ojaghi, director general of the Institute of Botany, head of the department of Ethnobotany, professor Sayyare Ibadullayeva, researcher of the department Narmin Sadighova studied the genetic structure of 10 genotypes of the species Artemisia szowitziana (Besser) Grossh and Artemisia fragrans Willd. collected from different regions of Azerbaijan through RAPD primers and the phylogenetic relationship between them in the research conducted at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies. Genetic structure and DNA polymorphism in populations of Artemisia species from different regions of Azerbaijan were effectively determined using molecular markers. The obtained results contribute to our knowledge of genetic relationships and strategies required for conservation of natural populations and genetic diversity.
