Academician Irada Huseynova, vice-president of ANAS, director general of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the MSE RA delivered a lecture on “Transcriptome analysis of response of wheat to drought stress" at the "International Congress on Biochemistry, Structural and Molecular Biology" (ICBSMB 2024) held in Barcelona, Spain, on June 20-21, 2024.

The speaker presented to the participants of the congress the results of studies conducted on stress-resistant and sensitive local wheat genotypes using the latest transcriptome analysis tool, the RNAseq method, and the correlations established between the response of plants' antioxidant defense system and the stress-induced transcriptome.

The speech was met with great interest, wide discussions were held around the presentation.

During the congress, meetings were held with scientists representing different countries, opportunities for scientific cooperation were discussed, and an agreement was reached on conducting joint research.
