On October 15, the scientific session on "Climate change and sustainability of ecosystems: threats, challenges, solutions" dedicated to the "Year of solidarity for the sake of a green world" was held jointly by the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS and the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of MSE AR, continued its work.

During the scientific session, in accordance with the program of the event, senior researcher of the Institute of Bioresources (Nakhchivan), academician Tariyel Talibov delivered a lecture on "Critical problems of biodiversity of Nakhchivan AR", head of the laboratory of the İnstitute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, corresponding member of ANAS Ibrahim Azizov “Adaptation mechanisms of wheat plant to salt stress”, Head of the department of Ganja State University, corresponding member of ANAS, Vagif Novruzov “Assessment of biodiversity sustainability of ecosystems in Ganjabasar region”, General director of the Institute of Physiology named after Academican Abdulla Garayev, doctor of biological sciences, professor Ulduz Hashimova “Impact of climate changes on the human body: age and gender aspects”, director of the Institute of Crop Husbandry, PhD in agrarian sciences, associate professor Faig Khudayev “Impact of global climate changes on agriculture”, director of the Gobustan RES of the Institute of Crop husbandry, doctor of biological sciences, associate professor Atabey Jahangirov “New approaches to solving the problem of food security in the era of climate change”, head of the department of the Baku State University, senior researcher of the Institute of Zoology, PhD in biology, associate professor  Abulfaz Taghiyev “Effects of Caspian Sea problems on breeding behavior of migratory birds in modern times”, senior researcher of the Institute of Zoology, PhD in biology, associate professor Anvar Jalilov “Impact of global climate changes on species diversity of hydrobionts in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea”, senior researcher of IMBB, PhD in biology, assoc.prof. Nargiz Sultanova lectured on “Plant diseases, and their management in the background of climate change”. All lectures were listened to with great interest and extensive discussions were held around each speech. Concluding the scientific session, Academician Irada Huseynova, Vice-President of ANAS, General Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the MSE AR, spoke about the importance of the lectures and expressed her belief that the discussions will have an impact on the development of scientific research in relevant fields in Azerbaijan.
