Due to the consistent implementation and development by President Ilham Aliyev of the unparalleled political course laid by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in all spheres of state and social life, the Republic of Azerbaijan, which does not differ much in terms of territory and population, has become an influential and powerful country with its word and signature in solving national, regional and even global problems.

Azerbaijan has managed to resolve on its own what international organizations have not been able to do for 30 years - the implementation of the UN resolutions on Karabakh, played an important role in projects such as the restoration of the historical Silk Road, energy security of Europe, as the leader of the Non-Aligned Movement, was able to bring a second breath to this movement, regional made real contributions to ensuring peace and cooperation.

In this regard, holding the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29, which is the second major event after the UN General Assembly, in our country with the unanimous decision of the world community, the contributions of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the solution of global problems, the sustainable position it has achieved, the important role played by the Republic of Azerbaijan is the next indicator. 

Preparations for the holding of COP29 in Baku, which have been going on for almost a year, local, regional and international events, as well as focusing the attention of the society on related areas, understanding the true value of protecting and increasing the healthy environment, nature and its green cover, biological diversity in general therefore, it will allow to achieve important progress in terms of the formation of public consciousness on the basis of new, "green values".

- Development of climate scenarios and forecasts related to them;

- constant monitoring of the country's natural landscapes, soil, water and green cover resources, the state of the atmosphere, changes in its elemental composition, pollution level, radiation background;

- prevention of desertification, land degradation, restoration, improvement in an ecologically clean manner; 

- specification of eco- and biosafety standards, identification, compliance monitoring, preparation of biological safety principles;  

- renewable, ecologically clean - "green" energy, including the study of bioenergy issues, creation of "green energy" zones and corridors;

- assessment of the effects of climate change on the environment, plant, animal and especially human health, etc. 

It is no coincidence that "Green digital action" was included among the initiatives of the COP29 presidency.

One of the requirements of the time in Azerbaijan is the establishment and development of the "green education" system in all the directions mentioned above

Tens of thousands of representatives of foreign countries, mass media and civil society representatives, representatives of international organizations who came to Azerbaijan in connection with COP29 saw the features of the natural and anthropogenic landscapes of our homeland, the achievements in the political system and socio-economic development of the country, the secular structure of the state based on religious and ethnic tolerance, the kindness and hospitality of our people. This will make real contributions to further improving the international image of Azerbaijan's state and people, the tourism sector's renaissance, and the increase of foreign investment in the country's economy.
