The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change continues at a high level in our country. Numerous representatives represent the International Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA) at this event. On November 15, acting deputy director general of ICARDA for scientific research, director of the institution's Biodiversity and Plant Improvement Program, head of the research group on breeding and scaling improved varieties of dryland cereals and pulses under drought conditions, manager of the Moroccan research platform, Dr. Mickael Baum was a guest of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies. Note that Dr. Mickael Baum visited Baku as a member of the ICARDA delegation attending COP29. The official representative of ICARDA for Resource Mobilization Isbandiyar Valiyev, and executive director of the Institute of Genetic Resources of MSE RA, doctor of biological sciences Mehraj Abbasov accompanied the scientist in this meeting. Mickael Baum is a world-renowned scientist in the field of biotechnology. He authorizes more than 110 articles published in prestigious journals, 30 book chapters, and 40 conference proceedings. The general director of the institute, academician Irada Huseynova informed the representatives of ICARDA about the history of the establishment of the Institute, its structure, the main directions of scientific research, and staff potential. During the meeting, the institute's laboratory and department heads also provided information about their research. Future collaboration with ICARDA was discussed. Later, the guests were introduced to the first office and library of the institute's founder, the prominent scientist, academician Jalal Aliyev, as well as laboratories equipped with modern technology.
