December 31 is the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis! Dec 29, 2024 | 12:12 / Important events

December 31 is one of the most memorable and glorious days in the history of the Azerbaijani people - the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis! The formalization of this date is related to the name of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. On his initiative, on December 16, 1991, the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic adopted a decision to establish the Day of National Solidarity and Unity, the National Council of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued an order declaring December 31 as the Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis. Thus, this date has become a national holiday that Azerbaijanis around the world celebrate with joy every year. Our national leader stated in his address to our compatriots living abroad on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis on December 31: "Celebrating the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis as a state holiday has already become a pleasant tradition as a logical result of our people's national liberation struggle. Currently, millions of our compatriots live, work, and operate in different countries of the world. Despite this, there is only one state that preserves their national-spiritual existence. This is the independent, sovereign Republic of Azerbaijan”. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Iham Aliyev, demonstrates that the ideas of national solidarity are still relevant for the state of Azerbaijan today. Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis is a symbol of the unity of the Azerbaijani nation.

On the occasion of the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year holiday, we warmly congratulate our people and wish them good health, happiness, and prosperity.
