On January 6, the first meeting of the Scientific Council for 2025 was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies. The general director of the institute, academician Irada Huseynova opened the meeting and introduced the council members to the issues on the agenda. At the meeting, the scientific-research works to be carried out at the institute in 2025 and the plan of implementing scientific measures were discussed. The head of the education department, Associate Professor Samira Rustamova gave information about the results of the attestation of doctoral students and dissertators studying at the institute. The report of the leading researcher of the Laboratory of Photochemistry of Chloroplasts, Ph.D. Ulkar Ibrahimova’s secondment to Shandong Agricultural University of the People's Republic of China was heard. At the meeting, the candidacy of the applicant who applied for the title of associate professor, the extension of the study period of Elnara Sadygova, a junior researcher of the Plant Biotechnology Laboratory and a PhD student in Biotechnology at Ghent University, Belgium, and several organizational issues were discussed and relevant decisions were made. Academician Irada Huseynova informed the members of the Scientific Council about the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 28, 2024, on the declaration of 2025 as the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty" in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the issues arising from it.
