An event dedicated to World Civil Defense Day on March 1 was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies (MBBI). Opening the event with a speech, the Head of the Institute’s Civil Defense Headquarters, Mikayil Pashayev, noted that World Civil Defense Day was established in 1972 by the decision of the International Civil Defense Organization.

The main purpose of celebrating this day is to emphasize the importance of civil defense, enhance public preparedness for emergencies, and strengthen international cooperation in this field. As in various countries worldwide, educational events, training sessions, and exhibitions are also organized in Azerbaijan on this occasion. Within the framework of these events, the public is informed about the importance of civil defense, rules of conduct in emergencies, and safety measures. Mikayil Pashayev emphasized the significance of being prepared for emergencies and spoke about the work carried out in this field at the Institute.
