On the occasion of 27 March – Science Day, a scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The event was opened by the General Director of the Institute, academician Irada Huseynova, who spoke in detail about the significance of Science Day and the moral value it brings to science and scientists. The academician noted that 27 March – Science Day was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 9 April 2018. The celebration of Science Day is a clear indication of the state-level attention and care given to the development of science in our country, and it aims to increase public interest in scientific activities. In 2025, Science Day holds particular significance, as this year marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. Following that, one of the Institute’s leading scientists, Doctor of Biological Sciences Shahniyar Bayramov, Chief Researcher at the Laboratory of Enzymology of Photosynthetic Assimilation of Carbon, delivered a presentation on the topic “The Function of the Stomatal Apparatus in Plants and Its Regulatory Mechanisms”. In his presentation, the scientist touched upon current scientific issues, modern research, and the results obtained. Shahniyar Bayramov’s talk sparked great interest among the seminar participants. Extensive discussions were held around the topic, and the questions raised were thoroughly answered.
