Events dedicated to Science Day on March 27 are continuing at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the scientific seminar held on April 9, Edqar Shahbazov, the winner of the dual degree program in “Biotechnology” at the master's level jointly implemented by Baku State University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, delivered a presentation. The young researcher’s presentation on the topic “Calcium Signaling Pathways in Saline Soils – Plant Survival Mechanisms” was met with great interest by the seminar participants.  The speaker discussed the increase in calcium concentration known as the “calcium signature and other properties of calcium ions in plant cells exposed to environmental stress factors such as drought, salinity, and pathogen attack. E. Shahbazov answered the questions raised.
