On April 17–18, Samira Rustamova, PhD in Biology and Leading Researcher at the Laboratory of Bioadaptation, Turana Iskenderova and Saida Zulfugarova, researchers at the same laboratory, and Ulduza Gurbanova, PhD in Biology and Leading Researcher at the Laboratory of Enzymology of Photosynthetic Carbon Assimilation, visited the Gobustan Regional Experimental Station (RES) of the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry under the Ministry of Agriculture. The main purpose of the visit was to carry out preliminary phenological observations of wheat genotypes sown within the framework of competitive varietal testing and genome-wide association studies (GWAS). At the same time, seeds of high-yield elite wheat varieties provided by the German breeding company “KWS-Seeds Einbeck” were sown at the station for research purposes. Samples of all genotypes were collected and delivered to the institute for molecular-biological and biochemical analysis. The research is ongoing in the laboratories.
