On May 6, the next scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the seminar, Gulmira Alibeyova, a junior researcher at the Bioadaptation Laboratory of IMBB, delivered a presentation titled "Molecular Basis of Toxicity: Alterations in Transcription, Translation, and Signal Transduction Pathways Associated with Toxic Reactions." It should be noted that in 2022, Gulmira Alibeyova was awarded a scholarship under the Islamic Development Bank’s program and began her doctoral studies at Gazi University in Türkiye. Her research focuses on the complex role of ACE1 and ACE2 gene polymorphisms in the Turkish population, particularly in relation to cardiovascular and respiratory system pathologies stemming from these polymorphisms. Since 2024, she has been continuing her research at Ankara Etlik City Hospital. In her presentation, Gulmira Alibeyova discussed the scope and objectives of toxicology, genes that serve as risk factors in disease development, elucidation of disease pathogenesis, and the molecular biology methods used to determine the causes and etiology of diseases. Her talk sparked great interest among the seminar participants, followed by an engaging discussion during which questions were addressed.
