On May 16, a scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies (IMBB) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan to discuss the PhD dissertation of Turana Isgandarova, a researcher at the Laboratory of Bioadaptation. The dissertation is titled: “Investigation of the antioxidant system, ultrastructural features, and expression of some genes in wheat during natural and drought-induced senescence of the flag leaf”. The discussion took place within the scientific seminar of the Dissertation Council ED 1.25. The scientific supervisor of the PhD dissertation in the specialty 2415.01 – “Molecular Biology”, within the field of biology, is Academician Irada Huseynova. The reviewers are Professor Emad Mahmood Al-Maaroof from the Department of Biotechnology and Crop Science, College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Sulaimani, Iraq, and PhD in Biology Leylakhanim Malikova, Head of the Molecular Oncology Laboratory at the National Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Turana Isgandarova presented the main points of the dissertation, followed by discussions related to the topic. The members of the council shared their feedback with the applicant, emphasizing the relevance, contemporary importance, and both the scientific and practical value of the dissertation topic.
Following the voting results, it was decided to admit Turanə Isgandarova’s dissertation for final defense.
