On May 22–23, 2025, PhD in Biology, leading researcher at the Bioadaptation Laboratory of the IMBB Samira Rustamova, PhD student in Molecular Biology and junior researcher at the same laboratory Goncha Alakbarova, and PhD in Biology Ulduza Gurbanova, leading researcher at the laboratory of Enzymology of Photosynthetic Carbon Assimilation were on a scientific mission at the Gobustan Regional Experimental Station of the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry under the Ministry of Agriculture. The main purpose of the mission was to conduct relevant phenological observations during the heading stage of wheat genotypes planted for competitive variety trials and genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Measurements on the wheat genotypes were carried out using the PolyPen RP 410 NIR device, which enables non-invasive assessment of the physiological state of the plant. At the same time, soil moisture levels were determined using a special sensor, and the temperature of the plant canopy was measured with a non-contact digital laser infrared thermometer. Samples from all genotypes were collected and brought to the laboratory for molecular-biological and biochemical analyses.
