Within the framework of the “Human Rights Month” announced by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an informative event was organized at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Opening the meeting with an introductory speech, the executive director of the institute, PhD in Biology, associate professor Alamdar Mammadov noted that the purpose of the event is to promote human rights and freedoms, inform employees in this field, and draw attention to existing challenges in the field of rights protection. Elamdar Mammadov provided the participants with detailed information about the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan and its recent amendments. He emphasized that the Constitution, as the supreme legal act of the country, is the main guarantor of every citizen’s rights and freedoms. Later, Doctors of Philosophy in Biology Saadat Khudaverdiyeva and Nargiz Bayramova, who spoke at the event, provided detailed information about the provisions reflected in the Constitution and the reforms made, including changes that serve to further strengthen human rights and freedoms. It was emphasized that every citizen, especially the younger generation, should be aware of their rights and freedoms and be able to defend them. A call was made to enhance legal knowledge among youth, and the importance of active participation in the protection of rights was highlighted as a key factor in the development of society.
