An extended meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the 60th anniversary of the Director General of the Institute, Academician Irada Huseynova. Taleh Hajiyev, a representative of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan who attended the meeting, conveyed the congratulations of Minister Emin Amrullayev to the jubilarian. Mukhtar Naghiyev, Head of the Sabail District Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, congratulated Irada khanym on her 60th anniversary and her public and political activity and presented her with an Honorary Certificate from the organization. A congratulatory message on behalf of Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs, was also read. Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, Doctor of Biological Sciences and Director General of the Institute of Botany, as well as Corresponding Member of ANAS Islam Mustafayev, Director General of the Institute of Radiation Problems, congratulated Irada khanym on behalf of the staff of their respective institutes. The speakers spoke about Academician Irada Huseynova’s scientific, pedagogical, and social activities, highlighting her significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijani science and society. They emphasized that Irada Huseynova’s work is extensive and covers various fields. Then, Novruz Guliyev, a corresponding member of ANAS, congratulated Irada kahnym on behalf of the staff of the IMBB, noting how challenging it was to establish a new institute and praised her efforts and successes in accomplishing this task. On behalf of the institute’s young researchers, Samira Rustamova, Head of the Education Department, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor, and Gulnar Abdullayeva, currently a postdoctoral researcher at Oxford University, spoke about the support and care Mrs. Irada has shown to young scientists. They expressed their gratitude for all her achievements and sincerely thanked their mentor.

Then, Academician Irada Huseynova presented a report on her many years of scientific activity. She spoke about how Academician Jalal Aliyev, a prominent scientist and public-political figure, supported her when she was a young researcher beginning her scientific career and later entrusted her with great confidence. She recounted joining the department led by Jalal Aliyev after graduating from Azerbaijan State University and successfully defending her PhD and doctoral dissertations under his supervision. She also spoke about the years she served as the head of the newly established Bioadaptation Laboratory and later as the director of IMBB. She emphasized that, following Jalal Aliyev’s wishes, she considers herself fortunate to have taken on the responsible role of leading the institute and expressed her deep gratitude to everyone who congratulated her on her jubilee.
