Today, August 1, is celebrated as the Day of the Azerbaijani Alphabet and Azerbaijani Language, a date of great historical significance for our nation. This remarkable day reflects the importance given to the development and preservation of the Azerbaijani language and the transition to the new Latin-based alphabet. After gaining independence, the people of Azerbaijan returned to their national and spiritual values and officially restored the Latin-based Azerbaijani alphabet. On the initiative of the national leader, Heydar Aliyev, August 1 was declared the Day of the Azerbaijani Alphabet and Azerbaijani Language and has since been celebrated every year across the country with great respect. Our mother tongue is not only a means of communication — it is an inseparable part of our history, culture, and national identity. Protecting, enriching, and passing it on in its purest form to future generations is a moral duty for each of us. On this day, let us once again express our love and respect for our language! Let us love, protect, and preserve the Azerbaijani language!
