Leading researcher at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, PhD in Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Ulkar Ibrahimova, was on a scientific mission from July 2, 2025 to August 9, 2025 at Shandong Agricultural University located in Tai’an, People’s Republic of China. During the mission, she carried out phenotypic (chlorophyll fluorescence analyses) and genotypic studies on wheat genotypes of Azerbaijani origin. In wheat specimens, the expression of the TaP5CS (delta-1-pyrroline-5-carboxylate synthase 2) gene responsible for proline synthesis, and the TaBADH (betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase) gene responsible for glycine betaine synthesis, were investigated. Alongside her research, at the request of the University administration, Ulkar Ibrahimova also delivered lectures to Master’s and PhD students, presenting information about the Republic of Azerbaijan and the scientific research being conducted there.
