Organized jointly by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Agency for Science and Education, and the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, the international conference on “Challenges in Energy, Food, Environment, and Climate Security” continued its work with parallel sessions on October 17, 2025.

The sessions, moderated by Dr. Alemdar Mammadov, Executive Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, and Dr. Tokhir Khusanov, Researcher at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, featured presentations on green energy and its efficiency, biotechnological innovations, the impact of climate change on biological systems, food security, and ecological sustainability, followed by discussions on current scientific directions. During the symposium presentations and the poster session organized in the institute’s foyer, results of research in bioenergetics, green technologies, agro-biotechnology, microbial diversity, environmental protection, and other related fields were showcased. The presentations also covered topics such as the application of artificial intelligence in energy, agricultural, biomedical, and environmental research, conservation of genetic resources, breeding of climate-adapted plant species, development of efficient biotechnologies, and the research findings obtained, leading to extensive exchanges of views.

Scientists and young researchers from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Pakistan, and other countries actively participated in the event.

At the conclusion of the discussions, it was noted that the integration of science and technology, the expansion of international scientific cooperation, and ongoing multidisciplinary research will play an important role in ensuring the future energy, food, and climate security of the countries.

The parallel sessions and poster session were recognized as an effective platform for scientific exchange, the generation of new ideas, and the development of joint research initiatives.
