November 8 – Victory Day, which has left an indelible mark on the heroic history of the Azerbaijani people, was solemnly celebrated at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies with deep respect and pride. First, a meeting was held in the courtyard of the institute with the participation of staff, veterans of the Patriotic War and their family members, as well as schoolchildren. The precious memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our lands was honored with a minute of silence, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played. The event was opened by the Institute's General Director, Academician Irada Huseynova, who congratulated the participants on Victory Day. I.Huseynova expressed her deep respect for the veterans of the Patriotic War, calling their sacrifice a symbol of the heroism of our people. The academician then gave the floor to Nasiba Abdullayeva, the mother of a veteran attending the event. Nasiba Abdullayeva said that she prays for all the sons who fought for the Motherland and emphasized that thanks to thousands of brave men like her son, Azerbaijan is now recognized as a victorious country. The veteran of the Patriotic War, Ceyhun Abdullayev, noted that this victory is a source of pride for every Azerbaijani and stated that today’s triumph was made possible thanks to the blood and heroism of our martyrs. At the gathering, patriotic songs were performed and poems were recited by schoolchildren.

Then the event continued in the assembly hall of the institute. Academician Irada Huseynova, who spoke there, noted that November 8 – Victory Day is the celebration of a day our people had long dreamed of. This Victory is not only a military and political success but also a manifestation of our nation’s national pride and its faith in the state and the army. The 44-day Patriotic War once again demonstrated to the whole world the will, heroism, and national unity of the Azerbaijani people. She emphasized that under the wise and determined leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief, Ilham Aliyev, through the unity of the people and the valor of our army, Azerbaijan ended the 30-year-long occupation and restored historical justice. Today, we are witnessing the results of this great victory. Life is being revived in Karabakh, and our villages and cities are being restored. This is a source of pride for every Azerbaijani. I. Huseynova expressed her deep respect for the souls of our martyrs, wished good health to our veterans, and a prosperous future to our people.

The event featured speeches by corresponding members of ANAS, Ibrahim Azizov and Novruz Guliyev, the Chairperson of the Institute’s Young Scientists and Specialists Council, Aygun Sadigova, and First Karabakh War veteran Shahvalad Mammadov. They emphasized that in the 44-day Patriotic War, the Great Victory, achieved through the unity of our people, the bravery of our soldiers, and the blood of our martyrs, demonstrated the determination, moral strength, and pride of the Azerbaijani people to the whole world.
