An online meeting was held between representatives of the Institute of Pomology of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (IPCAAS), the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies (IMBB) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Institute of Fruit Growing and Tea Growing under the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Memorandum of Understanding to be signed for the establishment of the “China–Azerbaijan Joint Laboratory on Pomology.” The laboratory aims to promote joint scientific research in the field of fruit cultivation, facilitate the application of new technologies, and strengthen personnel exchange. The collaboration will cover various areas, including fruit tree breeding, plant diseases, diagnostics, quarantine measures, fruit quality analysis, storage technologies and safety standards, exchange of scientists and specialists, joint projects and training programs, development of biological protocols, production technologies, and dissemination of innovative technologies. The laboratory will be jointly coordinated by IPCAAS on the Chinese side, and by IMBB together with the Institute of Fruit Growing and Tea Growing on the Azerbaijani side.
