The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Professor Evelina Slavcheva, visited Baku at the invitation of the President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbayli, to participate in the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of ANAS. As part of her visit, the guest toured the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the meeting, the Institute’s Director General, Academician Irada Huseynova, highlighted the importance of the longstanding friendship between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria and emphasized the necessity of further strengthening these relations in the fields of science and education. The guest was briefed on the Institute’s main research directions, its modern scientific infrastructure, and ongoing international projects. The discussion also covered opportunities for conducting joint scientific research, preparing collaborative research projects, and developing personnel training programs. Professor Evelina Slavcheva expressed her interest in expanding scientific cooperation with the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies and shared her thoughts regarding potential steps to be taken in this direction.
