Professor Muhammad Ishtiaq Ali of the Department of Microbiology at Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan, visited the Institute of Molecular Biology, Public Legal Entity. During the visit, the guest became closely acquainted with the scientific research conducted in several laboratories of the institute and exchanged views with the specialists. Professor Muhammad Ishtiaq Ali’s scientific work covers areas such as applied and environmental microbiology, the biological degradation of synthetic pollutants, the colonization and biodeterioration of man-made materials by microorganisms, and the bioremediation of waste. In addition, the scientist conducts research in the field of molecular microbiology, including the genomic study of commercially significant microorganisms, the characterization of enzymes capable of degrading pollutants, and the investigation of antimicrobial resistance in the environment. During the meeting, opportunities for future collaboration, joint projects, and prospects for scientific exchange were discussed.
