The 4th Azerbaijan–Turkey Bilateral International Online Scientific Workshop was held within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and Dokuz Eylül University (DEU). The workshop covered six fundamental fields: mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, biology, and chemistry. The honorary chairs of the workshop were the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, and the Rector of DEU, Professor Bayram Yılmaz. The co-chairs were Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova, and Dean of the Faculty of Science of DEU, Professor Aylin Alındır. The Scientific Committee consisted of distinguished scientists representing both institutions and the relevant disciplines. The opening ceremony, moderated by Professor Levent Çavaş (DEU), featured welcoming remarks by Professor Aylin Alındır, who highlighted the positive outcomes of previous workshops and emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey. She also conveyed the greetings of DEU Rector Professor Bayram Yılmaz to the participants. Academician Irada Huseynova delivered greetings on behalf of ANAS President Academician Isa Habibbeyli and noted that the workshop was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of ANAS and to 2025 being declared the “Year of the Family” in Türkiye. She emphasized that these aspects reflect the concept of a shared “scientific family” based on strategic partnership and common values. She also underlined that, for the first time, two plenary lectures were scheduled immediately after the opening ceremony, enhancing the scientific level and discussion of current research directions. The Vice-Rector of DEU, Professor Hamdi Şükür Kılıç, also addressed the participants, stressing the importance of such workshops for expanding international scientific cooperation and supporting young researchers. Two plenary lectures were delivered during the plenary session: one in physics by Professor Hamdi Şükür Kılıç (DEU) and one in biology by Dr. Yashar Feyziyev, Head of a laboratory at the “Molecular Biology” Public Legal Entity. Both presentations attracted considerable interest. The workshop continued with parallel sessions in six fields: mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, biology, and chemistry, where participants discussed current scientific problems, recent research results, and future perspectives. At the closing ceremony, the organizers emphasized the high scientific level of the event and its contribution to strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijani and Turkish scientists. It was agreed that the 5th bilateral international scientific workshop will be held next year in an in-person format in Baku.
