December 31 is a date of great socio-political significance, symbolizing the national unity and solidarity of Azerbaijanis around the world. Established on the initiative of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis has become a symbol of the unification of our compatriots living across the globe around the Azerbaijani state, national interests, and shared values. This date is of particular importance in terms of preserving the rich spiritual heritage, language, culture, and traditions of statehood of the Azerbaijani people.  At the same time, as the eve of the New Year, December 31 strengthens feelings of renewal, development, and confidence in the future within our society. The achievements of independent Azerbaijan, the restoration of its territorial integrity and sovereignty, and the growing international prestige of the country have further reinforced the bond of Azerbaijanis worldwide with their Homeland and strengthened the spirit of national solidarity. Today, as a result of the purposeful state policy pursued by the Republic of Azerbaijan, significant achievements have been attained in organizing Azerbaijanis living abroad, defending national interests in the international arena, and strengthening diaspora activities. The consolidation of the unity of Azerbaijanis worldwide makes an important contribution to the further strengthening of our statehood. On this occasion, we sincerely congratulate all Azerbaijanis around the world—our compatriots and fellow citizens—and wish each of them good health, prosperity, peace and stability, unity, and new successes in the coming New Year.
