According to the 2025 data of the international analytical platform ScholarGPS, Suleyman Allahverdiyev ranked 2nd worldwide among researchers in the field of photosynthesis. This ranking is based on the ScholarGPS Highly Ranked Scholars list, which includes only the top 0.05% of the most influential scientists globally.
Suleyman Allahverdiyev is Doctor of Biological Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation. He serves as Head and Chief Researcher of the Laboratory of Regulated Photobiosynthesis at the Institute of Plant Physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is also a Chief Researcher at the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
For his many years of productive scientific activity and significant contributions to science, he has been awarded the K.A. Timiryazev Prize (2019), the Global Energy International Award (2021), the N. Veziroghlu International Hydrogen Energy Award (2024), as well as the Gold Medal “For Services to Science” of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
