An event dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, observed on February 11, was organized at the Institute of Molecular Biology. The event was opened with welcoming remarks by PhD in Biology Alamdar Mammadov, who provided detailed information about the history and significance of this important day. It was noted that the International Day of Women and Girls in Science was established in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and aims to ensure the equal participation of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It was emphasized that the full realization of women’s potential is essential for the sustainable development of science. Corresponding Member of ANAS Ibrahim Azizov, PhD in Biology Saadat Khudaverdiyeva, and researcher Gulmira Alibayova delivered speeches, highlighting the achievements of women scientists in various fields of science and underlining their important role in shaping and advancing the scientific environment. The importance of supporting young researchers and fostering innovative thinking was also particularly stressed.
