On February 20, an event dedicated to the amendments made to the Labour Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, effective from January 16, 2026, was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology. The main purpose of the event was to explain the new legal mechanisms regulating labour relations, clarify relevant concepts, present the legal foundations of modern forms of work, including the remote work model, and inform the staff about innovations aimed at strengthening employees’ social protection.
At the event, HR Specialist of the Human Resources and Legal Sector, Mehriban Ahmadova, delivered a presentation providing detailed information on the essence of the amendments to the Code, their implementation mechanisms, and the new provisions concerning the conclusion, amendment, and termination of employment contracts. She also highlighted key considerations to be taken into account in the practical application of the new regulations.
Subsequently, Acting Director of the Institute, Academician Irada Huseynova, emphasized the importance of the reforms introduced in labour legislation, noting that these changes contribute to enhancing transparency and legal certainty in employee–employer relations. The event continued in an interactive discussion format, during which participants’ questions were addressed.
