The history of the world has proved that the power, intelligence, courage, political will and wisdom of individuals are indispensable in the life of their people and the state created by them. The architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijan state, the Great Leader HEYDAR ALIYEV occupies a unique place among these personalities. This genius has risen to the level of the National Leader. The combination of national leadership and political leadership qualities in a state man is a rare, unique phenomenon for the human history. The great leader confirmed himself also as the first person in all other areas of his activity.

An event dedicated to the 96th birthday anniversary of the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev was held at the institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies on May 10. Opening the event, the director of the Institute, vice-president of ANAS, academician Irada Huseynova congratulated everyone on this remarkable day. She noted that more than thirty years of the Azerbaijani history, revival in all spheres of public, political, economic, scientific and cultural life of the people are related to the name of the great Azerbaijani person. Heydar Aliyev paid special attention to the development of science in our country. Today the existence of ANAS is connected with the name of Heydar Aliyev. Thanks to the efforts of the National Leader during the very difficult period for Azerbaijan, the Academy gained a national status. I. Huseynova recalled the words of our National Leader, "The fate of each nation goes through its education" and noted that if we ignore science today, tomorrow we will see the negative consequences. Today, Heydar Aliyev's wise and far-sighted policy is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. Azerbaijan holds its worthy position among world countries. Our country has become a venue for various prestigious international events.

Then correspondent member of ANAS Ibrahim Azizov recalled the hardships of the Azerbaijani people. He noted that in the 1990s, when the People's Front was in power, Azerbaijan was in danger of splitting. In such a period, Azerbaijani intellectuals invited Heydar Aliyev to Azerbaijan. Undoubtedly, Azerbaijani state exists only as a result of the far-sighted policy of the National Leader.

The institute employee Raisa Ismayilova said that she moved to Azerbaijan in 1991 and she is a living witness of the achievements gained due to Heydar Aliyev's wise policy. Thanks to Heydar Aliyev, peace and stability was restored in Azerbaijan and now Azerbaijan is a homeland for everybody regardless of religion and nationality.

The chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute, Ph.D. Ulduza Gurbanova spoke about the youth policy of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and his worthy follower, President Ilham Aliyev. She noted that Ilham Aliyev pays special attention to science and our duty is to unite and support our president.

Then the deputy director of the institute Natig Allahverdiyev, young scientist Samra Mirzayeva and others delivered speeches.
