An event dedicated to March 31 – the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis – was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the genocide. In his opening speech, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Alamdar Mammadov provided detailed information about the historical roots of the March 1918 events, the massacres carried out against Azerbaijanis at that time, and the deep impact this tragedy left on the memory of our people. He emphasized that researching these events and conveying them to the international community is a moral duty for every Azerbaijani. Following him, Corresponding Member of ANAS Ibrahim Azizov spoke about the historical significance of the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis. He noted that the March 31 events are not only a tragedy of the past but also an important lesson for preserving national memory and identity. The scholar highlighted the special role of such events in informing the younger generation about the truths of our history. Participants of the event shared their thoughts on the essence, causes, and consequences of the genocide that took place in 1918.
