Within the framework of the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum, an awareness-raising event entitled “Healthy City – Healthy Human: Ecological and Biological Approach” was organized at the Institute of Molecular Biology. Opening the event with an introductory speech, the Institute’s Scientific Secretary, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Durna Aliyeva, noted that modern urbanization processes have a direct impact on human health, and in this regard, the study of ecological and biological factors is of particular importance. She emphasized that the formation of a healthy urban environment should be based not only on urban planning approaches, but also on the results of scientific and biological research. At the event, PhD in Biology Vafa Hasanova, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Mayakhanim Khanishova, researcher Matanat Bakhishova, and junior researcher Vusala Jafarova delivered presentations on the topic, providing information on maintaining ecological balance in urban environments, the impact of environmental factors on human health, the role of biodiversity, and the principles of sustainable development. The presentations also addressed the challenges posed by urbanization processes and discussed the possibilities of applying scientific approaches in this field. At the end of the event, an exchange of views took place, questions were answered, and the importance of continuing awareness-raising activities in this direction in the future was emphasized.
