On May 20, within the framework of the events of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, Acting Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova participated in meetings and discussions organized on various platforms and at international pavilions of the event.

Within the framework of the Forum, the academician became closely acquainted with the exhibitions presented at the Azerbaijan pavilion. The presentations on the sustainable urban development policy implemented in the country, the transition strategy toward green energy, environmental safety measures, restoration and reconstruction projects carried out in the liberated territories, as well as the implementation of the “smart city” and “smart village” concepts, attracted great interest.

Academician Irada Huseynova also visited the pavilions of Turkiye, Uzbekistan, and other brotherly countries, where she familiarized herself with projects related to urbanization, protection of urban ecosystems, innovative management models, environmental sustainability, and modern urban infrastructure. During the meetings, views were exchanged with representatives of those countries on opportunities for cooperation in the fields of science, innovation, biotechnology, environmental protection, and sustainable development.

During conversations with Forum participants, the development achievements attained by Azerbaijan in recent years, the stable and secure environment prevailing in the country, the green energy policy, as well as the rapid and modern restoration and reconstruction activities carried out in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur were highly appreciated. Foreign representatives noted that the projects implemented by Azerbaijan in the fields of sustainable development, urban planning, and ecological transformation are being closely followed at the international level.

Alongside Academician Irada Huseynova, employees of the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan also participated in all the above-mentioned activities within the framework of the WUF13 Forum.
